WNBA gamers reveal ugly living conditions in ‘bubble’
This was not what WNBA players wanted when they reported to their hotel at the “bubble” in Bradenton, Fla., to prepare for video games that are arranged to happen at the IMG Academy.
Players flowed images upon coming to their short-lived living conditions on Monday. More details emerged Tuesday, and NBA players such as Damian Lillard and Nassir Little spoke out against the unsanitary scenes depicted in the images.
One photo showed a worm on the floor of a hotel room. Another showed a mouse trap in the laundry room. Deadspin reported Tuesday that 2 teams needed to change spaces because of an infestation of bed bugs, quoting a source saying the league is “working to fix some issues.”
Bleacher Report reported Tuesday that a survey was sent to people in lodge housing, and that IMG Academy executives were working to deal with the issues.
The WNBA is planning to play a 22-game season prior to a conventional playoff, all held at the IMG Academy “bubble.”.
