Valheim breaks 500,000 concurrent gamers, surpasses Dota 2 – VG247
After shooting up to Steam’s top-three most played games at launch, with over 367,443 gamers at peak concurrent, the game has now smashed that already impressive figure throughout recently and again on the weekend.
Valheim’s record now stands at 502,387 players all online at the exact same time. It has been growing so rapidly, in fact, SteamCharts has yet to overtake the most current number.
Having more than half-a-million active gamers was enough for Valheim to overtake Dota 2, and declare the second spot behind the juggernaut Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. At the time of composing, Valheim sits at number three behind the 2 games, however this might flip again as more gamers log in later today.
It’s hard to predict where Valheim might go from there. There’s space for figures to go even higher, but it’s not likely for things to reach PUBG-levels of meteoric success. Time will tell, obviously, as even PUBG was never forecasted to surpass CS: GO or Dota 2.
