TobiWan Leaves Esports For Great Following Sexual Misconduct Claims
Following a social networks firestorm and sexual misconduct accusations levelled against him, Dota 2 commentator Toby “TobiWan” Dawson has actually decided to call it quits and leave the esports industry completely.
Dawson on Twitter yesterday fired a final broadside at his critics and thanked advocates for sticking by his side throughout what he described as a “terrible” period in his life.
He also declared innocence and contacted his accusers to pursue legal recourse instead of relying on “innuendo and proof void of analysis,” he stated in a declaration on his Twitter account.
At the time of composing, Dawson has unfollowed everybody on Twitter except Dota 2’s Twitter handle. He has also altered his screen name to “Inactive”.
“As of this post, I will stop to have any public image in esports. I will never commentate once again and my focus will turn fully to my household and discovering a method to move on with life,” he stated in the tweet.
This comes a number of days after Paul “Redeye” Chaloner, one of the most popular characters in esports, quit the market after fellow British host and recruiter James Banks implicated the former of “physical and spoken” abuse.
