A brand-new rule in the NFL this season permits teams to designate approximately four gamers on their practice squad each week that prevents other groups from signing them to their roster. Normally, practice team players have actually been able to negotiate with other teams who wish to include them to their active lineup.

This classification avoids that throughout the week.

The NFL deal wire notes the Cardinals safeguarded 3 players for today– cornerback Chris Jones, running back D.J. Foster and tight end Jordan Thomas.

They are all at positions where there are small numbers on the lineup. The Cardinals kept only 3 running backs, three tight ends and 4 cornerbacks on the lineup.

The Cardinals can raise 2 gamers to the active roster later in the week, providing them 55 gamers on the roster to choose to have active on game day.

Thomas, Foster and Jones, if they are not raised to the active roster this week, would be permitted to sign with another group Monday early morning if they wanted. If they rose, they might not do so until after the revert back to the practice team.
