I WAS at Ipoh’s Azlan Shah Stadium to enjoy a friendly video game in between the Perak Sukma (Malaysia Games) females’s group and a local boy’s group on the weekend and was shocked by the condition of the turf.

The amount of fungi that is obvious on it was mind boggling.

This grass was laid only about two years ago if I’m not incorrect. I was told nobody can use the grass as it’s reserved just for state training, thus the fungi.

The shocking condition also means the maintenance has not depended on par.

Ipoh Town hall should consider handing over the running of the stadium to former international gamers – I understand there are those who are more than happy to take charge.

As an ex-international from Perak myself, I am very upset at this scenario.
