Steve Kerr does not flex his team guidelines, even for Warriors stars like Steph Curry and Draymond Green.

During a pregame media availability before a matchup with the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, Kerr remembered a fantastic story about Draymond and Steph being late for the Warriors’ group airplane because they were hanging out with Toronto native and Raptors fan Drake.

” Eric Housen, our travel male, called Steph and he said ‘Oh, my fault, I’m with Drake and Draymond, we’re at the arena still, sorry we’re late,'” Kerr told press reporters. “We had a group rule at the time, that you could bring a buddy on the plane a couple times a year. Unbeknownst to me, Steph chose to utilize one of his slots for Drake, so Drake got on the plane that night with Draymond and Steph.

” And I fined all 3 of them for being late, and Drake paid his $500 fine, you can ask him, true story.”

Considered that Drake famously pointed out the Warriors “running practice at my house” in his tune “Summertime Sixteen,” it’s not unexpected that he found his way onto a team flight.

Drake has courtside seats for Raptors house games, and exchanged a lot of garbage talk with Kevin Durant and the rest of the Warriors’ roster during the 2019 NBA Finals.

Even when a significant celebrity like Drake found his way onto the group plane, Kerr wasn’t going to forget his rules.
