TAMPA, Fla.– The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ flight to Charlotte, North Carolina, was delayed more than 5 hours on the tarmac Saturday night, a team source informed ESPN.

The hold-up was because of mechanical issues, the source stated, and was not COVID-19-related.

The aircraft was supposed to take off at 2:25 p.m. ET and land at 3:55 p.m. ET, however it had actually not taken off as of 7:30 p.m. ET.

The group has been on board the airplane for the level of the delay, the source said.

The Bucs are scheduled to play the Carolina Panthers at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.

NFL Network initially reported that the team’s flight was delayed.
