The Sachse Woman Mustangs ladies basketball team had one task: win and you’re in.

They did a lot more than that, controling Garland and South Garland on the way to clinching a playoff area, and they still have a chance to climb up into second place.

After playing 7 games in two weeks to comprise cancellations, two games seemed like a simple schedule for the Lady Mustangs, and they used the energy to dominate Garland in a 50-20 win. The domination began with Crislyn Rose, who outscored the entire Garland group with 26 points throughout the game. She was the only gamer on either group to rating in double figures. Coach McCullough raved about Rose’s capability just a week ago in taking control of the offense.

” It’s been off and on where a young player has had to take on the centerpiece of the offense,” McCullough stated. “In Crislyn’s case, she’s the only star sophomore who made a major impact her freshman season on university. There are some young kids that are perfectly capable of playing at this level but they have to mature rapidly as she has.”

After the loss, Garland now sits at 6-6 in the district standings and 8-12 general.
