Sunderland boss Phil Parkinson kept his cards close to his chest regarding the current takeover bid at the Stadium of Light.

Previously today the Black Felines postponed a conference with advocates’ groups this week raising hopes that a takeover statement might be on the horizon.

Chief executive Jim Rodwell pointed out the reason being ‘due to the development and sensitivity of this procedure’.

Speaking with the media this afternoon, Parkinson stated: “I’ve been at a lot of clubs as a supervisor when takeover talk is frequently in the air. It is essential as a manager and as players that we put that to one side.

” When or if a takeover finally occurs, the owner of the football club – Stewart Donald will sound me I make sure and let me know.

” A great deal of times there’s still a lot more work to be done than individuals think.

” I simply focus on the group.

” I haven’t been informed anything main but I like it that method. I similar to understand when I need to understand something and when that stage comes I make certain I’ll be informed.”
