PGE sponsors Polish Esports League
PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna has become the title sponsor of the Championship Department of the Polish Esports League (PLE). Therefore, the largest Polish business in the power sector strengthened its position in the developing esports market.
“Esport is a kind of competition that is attracting more and more attention. PGE is open to new cooperation opportunities and adjusts its sponsorship activities to the altering market. The PLE has a recognized position in the esports market. Participation in sponsoring the Championship Department opens PGE to modern virtual services, which remains in line with the assumptions of the new PGE Group Technique,” Wojciech Dąbrowski, President of the Management Board of PGE, said.
“Getting such a dynamic sponsor as PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, which has actually been supporting the development of sport for several years, is a turning point for Polish esports games and for the PLE itself. We are convinced that together we will implement the tactical assumptions of the Polish Esports League and professionalize Polish esport on every level,” Paweł Kowalczyk, president of the board of the PLE, said.
Esports competition teaches tactical thinking, cooperation, interaction, and analytical under time pressure, for this reason its significance for the advancement of the young generation. Under the agreement, PGE is the title sponsor of the Championship Division of the PLE, which will operate under the name of the PGE Champion Division of the Polish Esports League in the spring and fall season of 2021. Eight groups compete in the competition and the platform is among the leading tactical computer system games, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
