After a mostly effective eight-year run, it appears that Olof “olofmeister” Gustafsson is soon to retire from competitive CS: GO.

Olofmeister, if you weren’t conscious, first signed up with the CS: GO scene back in 2012 and has actually bet significant teams such as Fnatec, Faze Clan, and H2k Gaming. He joined his latest team Faze Clan in 2017 and helped them in winning competitors like EPICENTER 2018 and ESL One: New York City 2017. According to Liquipedia, the 29-year-old has earned around $880,000 throughout his career, which isn’t too shoddy at all.

The news of his departure was verified by fellow Faze Clan colleague Marcelo “Coldzera” David within an interview with cybersports.ru. Here he discussed the future for the group and stated: “The next step will be to change Olofmeister, who will end his career.” Later on in the interview, Coldzera added a description for his departure by simply specifying: “He does not wish to play Counter-Strike anymore.”
