Maple Leafs ‘if’ list: 15 things that need to break ideal for a successful year

Many things have to swing properly for a group to fulfill expectations and attain success.

Last season’s Maple Leafs were proof of that. Practically whatever that could go incorrect did go wrong– from new players such as Tyson Barrie not fitting in, injuries to a host of players consisting of Morgan Rielly and Ilya Mikheyev, to bad performances from essential players like Frederik Andersen.

But 2021 might bring better fortunes.

In the first edition of the ‘if’ list, we will analyze the important things that need to break ideal for the Leafs to return on track and have an excellent season.

The more ‘ifs’ that arrive on the positive side of the ledger, the more most likely it’s bound to be a successful year. Now, ‘if’s’ do not consist of things the Leafs can fairly depend on, like Auston Matthews scoring a bunch of goals or Jake Muzzin playing solid defence. The ‘ifs’ are more unsure.
