Madden NFL 21 Announces Decision On ‘Redskins’
“On July 3rd, we revealed the beginning of an extensive evaluation of the team’s name. That evaluation has started in earnest. As part of this process, we desire to keep our sponsors, fans and neighborhood apprised of our thinking as we move forward.
Today, we are revealing we will be retiring the Redskins name and logo upon conclusion of this evaluation,” the Washington football group announced on Monday.
Washington has yet to announce its new nickname and logo design.
So, for now, EA Sports’ Madden NFL 21 will be using a “generic” Washington football team. The Redskins name and logo design is being gotten rid of from the video game.
” We are happy to see Washington’s decision to alter their group name and visual identity,” an EA representative stated in a declaration. “We are rapidly working to upgrade Madden NFL 21 to feature a generic Washington group, while we wait for final word on the upgraded team name and logo style.”
The modifications to the video game will supposedly be made when a user connects to the web.
” The very first modifications will be offered to our EA Gain access to players and will include audio/commentary updates; movement graphics and presentation updates; stadium art, environments, crowd gear and signs updates; and uniform updates,” EA’s statement said. “Players may continue to see some outdated Washington references in other locations of the video game at launch, however we are devoted to getting rid of all of those from the game in additional title updates coming quickly after launch.”
