Timo Werner has become one of the main targets for Jurgen Kloop as he hopes to bring the 24 year old German international to Anfield.

The RB Leipzig forward already has 106 goals to his name in a total of 256 appearances at the tender age of 24. Werner has been evident in his desire to join Liverpool instead joining Bayern Munich back in the Bundesliga. It was also heavily speculated that the Premier League leaders would trigger his £53million release clause.

Klopp has been contacting the German striker over a transfer to the Reds in preparation for the possible departure of either Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah, both of which have been linked with Real Madrid.

However, The Daily Telegraph reported that Chelsea representatives have made a trip to Germany in order to convince the Striker to make a move to Stamford Bridge, thus propelling them ahead of their rivals, Liverpool and Manchester United. The clubs have till June 15th to trigger Timo Werner’s release clause at RB Leipzig if they wish to sign him for less than £50m.

Liverpool have been closely linked with a summer transfer for Leicester City defender, Caglar Soyuncu. The Turkey international has gained recognition this season for playing a crucial role in leapfrogging Leicester to the Top 4 of the Premier League table.

The 23 year old has made a total of 35 appearances during the 2019/20 term for the Foxes. The Reds seem to be searching for a solid centre-back as Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen his defensive side even further. Another player like Soyuncu would add on to their existing plethora of choices for Central Defence consisting of Joel Matip, Van Dijk and Dejan Lovren.

Additionally, Manchester City and Barcelona have also expressed desire in signing the Turkey international but Liverpool ultimately remain the favourites.

3. Adama Traore

Adama Traore has been linked with several Top Premier League Clubs as a speculative summer transfer target such as Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United. The Reds are reportedly interested in signing Traore, valued at £70m but would likely cost the same as Timo Werner’s £50m release clause.

The Spanish forward has been one of the season’s highlights with 4 goals and 7 assists in 28 appearances for Wolverhampton. He made a £18million move from Middlesbrough back in 2018 and has become a regular fixture for the Wolves after starting just 5 games.

The 24 year old star has proven to have the skills, ability, pace and technique that surpasses the defences from opposition teams. If the Spaniard were to move to Liverpool, he would definitely enhance the offensive options at Anfield.

4. Kalidou Koulibaly

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly has been speculated to have turned down Manchester United for their Premier League rivals, Liverpool or Chelsea. Jurgen Klopp is extremely keen on signing Koulibaly and has reportedly convinced him to move to Anfield.

The Senegalese, who happens to be Sadio Mane’s international team-mate, has been linked with a big money move to the English Premier League for quite some time now. His contract at Stadio San Paolo currently only expires in 2023. Despite the global pandemic’s financial impact on football and sky high transfer market fees, Napoli refused to lower their asking price of approximately a staggering €100million.

When prompted on the matter, Napoli’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli responded, “Kalidou is a great player who still has a long contract with us. A player like this cannot change his value even in a crisis, so we are not moving our valuation.”

Daily Express reported on May 18 that Liverpool apparently tabled an offer lower than Newcastle for the 28 year old.

Sadio Mane has reportedly been in talks with a transfer to Real Madrid after a superb season for the Reds, netting a total of 18 goals and 8 assists in 38 appearances throughout all competitions this season. The Senegalese has also been named Teamtalk’s Player of the Year after topping
their rankings list for most of the season.

However, it is highly unlikely that Mane will be lured away. The Athletic reported that Liverpool does not have any qualms or concerns about him leaving for Spain. They believe that the 28 year old forward is satisfied at Anfield and envisions his long-term future with Liverpool.

Mane’s contract with the Reds expires in 2023 and Liverpool has reiterated that they want the Star forward to stay beyond that and extend his hero status with them. Lots of uncertainty clouds the current situation and in a year or two, things might change.
