MANILA – Lito Adiwang recovered from his hard loss last year in style after knocking out Namiki Kawahara in the very first match of ONE: Solid at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday night.

Adiwang was unfazed by the ruling Deep strawweight champ, who replaced supposed opponent Hexigetu on brief notice, all fight long.

He averted Kawahara’s takedown effort and counted on his kicking prowess to keep the Japanese fighter at bay in Round 1.

The end came at the 2:03 mark of Round 2 when Adiwang connected on a left hook that knocked Kawahara out, triggering the referee to stop the contest.
