Previous San Francisco 49ers defensive take on Charlie Krueger, who is one of 12 players in team history to have his number retired, passed away on Friday at the age of 84. The news was initially reported by Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. “Krueger passed away in Clayton (Contra Costa County) of heart and kidney failure, according to family good friend Dave Newhouse,” composed Branch. Krueger played 15 seasons in the NFL, all with the 49ers. The team chose him out of Texas A&M with the No. 8 general pick in the 1958 draft. The defender went on to be chosen to 2 Pro Bowls and is among 29 people to be inducted into the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr
