Peshawar – As an important action towards promotion of sports activities, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa federal government on Thursday developed a project for the facility of an international basic cricket stadium at Kalam, Swat.

The proposed stadium will be established on 120 acres of land currently readily available. The job will be finished with an estimated expense of Rs358 million in two years. Besides other centers, the proposed stadium will have a capacity to accommodate 6000 spectators at a time. Instead of cement concrete, artificial wood will be used in the majority of building and construction work of the stadium to preserve the natural charm of the location.

In this regard a conference was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan to review development on proposed task in which style of the stadium was provided. The Chief Minister concurred in concept with the style and directed the concerned authorities for needed steps to begin practical deal with the task well in time.

Secretary KP Sports Abid Majeed, Director General Sports Asfandyar and other concerned authorities likewise attended the meeting. Informing the Chief Minister about numerous aspects of the project, it was informed that an ideal piece of land determining more than 600 kanal was currently offered in Kalam for the building and construction of sports facilities out of which just 120 acre was required for cricket stadium.

The Chief Minister directed the authorities to design tasks for establishing a football ground and park on the access land even more directing them for plantation on significant piece of land as well so that natural appeal of the location might further be boosted with the goal to promote Eco Tourist.

Mahmood Khan termed promotion of sports activities in the province as one of the priority locations of his government and stated that based on the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the provincial government was taking result-oriented steps under a well-planned method to guarantee conducive environment for sports activities in the province.
