Jose Mourinho prompts forwards to show Tottenham are not a one-man team
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has called on his attacking gamers to step up in the lack of Harry Kane.
The England captain is sidelined with an ankle injury and is most likely to miss out on a third game in succession when West Brom go to on Sunday afternoon.
Things have not worked out for Tottenham in their star guy’s lack, losing their last three Premier League games – a run they had actually not suffered since November 2012.
Spurs just have a wonder strike from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to reveal for their attacking endeavour in Kane’s lack and Mourinho desires his other gamers to show that Tottenham are not a one-man team.
” It’s always the old story,” Mourinho stated. “A group is not a player. A team can not depend on a player. Other gamers they need to step up.
” That’s the reality of things. However there are gamers that are unique gamers in various teams.
” Even the greatest teams in the world, when Player X is not there, they miss him. We can have many examples of what these gamers indicate for certain clubs, and for specific groups.
” And for sure Harry is very essential for us. He leads. He produces. He has characteristics of closed eyes with Sonny for instance. However obviously, other people they have to step up to be truthful.
“( Carlos) Vinicius attempted his finest versus Chelsea, he couldn’t score his goal. I enjoy with him, period, I do not wish to say much more. I more than happy with his effort.
” The other guys, apart from Sonny, we understand they are not goalscorers, they are not the type of gamers that, as attacking gamers, they can score 8, 10, 12 objectives in a season, you know that these are not their attributes.
” So we need to battle with what we have and versus West Bromwich with Harry Kane, without Harry Kane, we have to go, we need to win that match.”
