One group found out a lesson from last week, the other team was Richmond. Hawthorn found an instant response for facing concerns raised by Geelong, Richmond could only find more or new questions.

The Hawks did a Collingwood and escaped to an early lead, keeping Richmond goalless, flat footed, sluggish and with holes opening up in their protective set up. Richmond has now quit 9 objectives to none in 2 very first quarters. Like last week, they handled just five objectives for the game.

Unlike recently, Richmond could not discover a way back into the game from the 5 goal handicap. This week they did not have Dustin Martin.

Hawthorn, not Richmond, was the group that hunted the ball. Hawthorn the group that pushed the gamer. Hawthorn the group that claimed area, used the ball better and looked more threatening when they moved forward.
