PEP GUARDIOLA is apparently more likely than not to sign a new Manchester City agreement.

The Citizens sit tenth after a mixed start to the season, having lost their Premier League crown to Liverpool.

The decision over whether Guardiola will continue at Etihad Stadium is believed to be down to the coach.

The 49-year-old’s ₤ 20million-a-year agreement is up at the end of the season and an agreement has not yet been reached.

But, according to The Telegraph, sources close to the Spaniard think he will agree a new offer with the club.

Guardiola is in his 5th year at City with a set of Premier League titles, an FA Cup and three Carabao Cups in the prize cabinet.

When asked about his contract circumstance in September, the coach insisted he is intending on signing a new deal.

He informed press reporters: “I would love to stay longer here.

” It is a location I love to be but I need to deserve. This club accomplished standards in the last decade however we have to preserve that and I have to deserve it.

” I am going to see if I deserve it this season in terms of how the club moves forward and enhances.”

Guardiola has also firmly insisted that City’s busy fixture schedule has postponed the chance for talks.

Having actually been provided hundreds of millions to invest in transfers in addition to young stars such as Phil Foden, the ex-midfielder added that he is happy to have the complete trust of the owners.

He kept in mind: “They allow me to do my job the very best I can and with all my personnel and the gamers and this is going to continue.

” They didn’t tell me you have to do this or you need to that or you need to win this or you have to win that. They told me to play.

” In my sensation, I understand the standards of the club and if I don’t achieve the standards, I probably don’t deserve so I need to win to extend my contract.”
