The coronavirus pandemic maintains its strong grip on the French Cup

The French Basketball Federation, FFBB, announced Thursday its choice to cancel the staying phases of the 2020-21 French Cup.

The majority of the first two rounds featuring minor groups were currently played but with numerous contests leading to 20-0 beats for groups unable to get involved due to COVID-19 limitations. The 2019-20 edition was abandoned with 8 teams left due to the coronavirus pandemic.

LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne back in 2019 remains the last French Cup winner.

The Leaders Cup, arranged by LNB and held every year in Disneyland Paris, stays included in the prepared 2020-21 schedule. The competition traditionally held midway through the season pits the top 8 Jeep Elite Pro A teams at the end of the preliminary of the top-tier domestic championship versus each other.
