CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)– Joel Embiid had 34 points and 11 rebounds, and the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Charlotte Hornets 118-111 on Wednesday night for their fourth straight win.

Tobias Harris scored 26 points and Ben Simmons included 15 points and 9 helps for the 76ers, who extended their winning streak versus the Hornets to 14 video games, connected for the longest active streak in the NBA. The Clippers have actually also won 14 directly against the Magic.

Gordon Hayward and LaMelo Ball each had 22 points for the Hornets, who had their three-game win streak snapped.

Earlier in the day, Hornets coach James Borrego stated on regional radio that he anticipated his team to come out with a lot of energy understanding their history versus the 76ers.

But Charlotte shot 22.7% from field in the first quarter and fell back 30-13.

The 76ers stretched the result in 26 in third quarter prior to the Hornets started to fume from beyond the arc and fought back to cut the deficit to seven with two minutes left. But Danny Green tore down a 3 from the best corner and Simmons included a driving layup to keep the Hornets at bay.

Each time the 76ers required a pail, they went to Embiid– and most of the time he reacted with mid-range jumpers or by getting to the nasty line.
