Devin McCourty ‘wouldn’t mind’ seeing Web cam Newton go back to Patriots in 2021
Out of all the chatter surrounding possible quarterbacks for the New England Patriots next season, Web cam Newton’s name is oftentimes left out.
Newton signed an one-year offer with the group and there’s very little speculation he’ll return to the team in 2021. The 31-year-old’s lack of goal passes is the main factor for this, but he did have a 7-8 record with an insanely diminished group and he hurried for 12 touchdowns– the second-most in a season throughout his career.
Whatever Newton could do to make himself better and project positive energy for the group, he did. However, due to having no weapons, Newton did not have the capability to close out a couple of crucial video games. Still, he kept the Patriots appropriate in video games that they had no service winning.
While going over the list of possible signal-callers for 2021, Devin McCourty pointed out Newton in his latest episode of the Double Coverage podcast.
” I would not mind a great deal of these guys quarterbacking my group. I’ll start off by stating I would not mind seeing my man Cam Newton return,” McCourty said, transcribed by WEEI. “I believed he had a difficult coming in– no offseason, no anything. played in a Super Bowl and won a MVP.”
He touched on the list of gamers he would not mind on the group as well, but this was prior to the Matthew Stafford trade to the Los Angeles Rams.
“Look, Deshaun Watson: stud, Aaron Rodgers: stud, Stafford: stud, Prescott: stud, Wentz: stud, Jimmy G: stud, Teddy B: stud,” McCourty continued.
As abovementioned, Newton went 7-8 with no skill and really little time to prepare with his team before the season. He didn’t get the credit he deserved from fans, however at least his colleagues saw his value.
