Selsey Coastguard Rescue Group reported the find on its Facebook page.

It said it receoved reports that the dolphin was found on West Beach, Selsey simply after 11am.

On its Facebook page, it stated: “Regrettably the team were not able to take measurements and details as the tide had come in and taken the dolphin out to sea.

” If you see it cleaned up please call the Coastguard so we can take the information and Solent Coastguard can then organize for the collection of the dolphin for further investigations or to be gathered and disposed of by the council.”
