Perth’s Amelia ‘Milli’ Lucas will have her last send-off today at Optus Stadium today, January 14, where she had the “finest day of her life”, tossing the coin prior to a Fremantle-Port Adelaide clash in 2019.

Last week, the 14-year-old lost her long battle with cancer.

Her household have actually extended an invitation to anybody who wishes to attend, gates will open at 10.30 am for an 11am service, asking that guests use something turquoise-blue in honour of Milli.

In 2016, Milli was 9 when she was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour which was run on in 2019 by popular Sydney neurosurgeon Dr Charlie Teo.

While 98 per cent of the tumour was gotten rid of by Dr Teo, the cancer returned in March, 2020.

She was flown to Sydney for additional treatment but was ultimately gone back to Perth on a mercy flight with the Royal Flying Medical Professional Service after an anonymous donor spent for the 10-hour journey.

She slipped away on January 4.

Between 1000 and 1500 individuals are expected to go to today’s funeral.
