Arsenal and Manchester City satisfy in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup later on this evening. The sides last satisfied in a cup competition last season, with the Gunners winning 2-0 in the FA Cup semi-finals. Their previous meeting in the League Cup remained in 2018 final, when City claimed a 3-0 win at Wembley.

Last season Pep Guardiola’s males raised the Carabao Cup for the 3rd consecutive year.

But the City boss is concerned about his side’s profligacy this term.

They have scored 19 objectives in 13 Premier League fixtures, simply over half of the 37 they had netted at the same phase of the previous project.

“We’re struggling, our momentum up front isn’t good,” said Guardiola.

“We are creating clear possibilities that we can not score and when this occurs we are always going to suffer.
